LeverageTek Supports Breast Cancer Research
LeverageTek was very proud to spend a fun-filled day on the golf course supporting the first annual Breast Stroke Golf Tournament.
The event was organized by Shelly and Carl Courneya, who have been raising much needed money for breast cancer research for many years here in the national capital region. Proceeds raised from the event will help fund the following:
- A major expansion project at the Queensway Carleton Hospital that will see a decrease in wait times for patients requiring breast cancer treatments
- Increased support for the Centre for Cancer Therapeutics where Dr. Ian A.J. Lorimer, Ph.D., has initiated studies comparing mutations in breast cancer tumors
- The establishment of the new molecular laboratory at the Ottawa Health Research Institute, where research on “personalized cancer treatment” is now underway
