User Interface Specialist

LeverageTek is actively seeking User Interface Specialist for a 5 month contract with their Ottawa based customer.

The successful candidate must have a strong background in, user centered design and navigation including Common Look and Feel (CLF), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Web Experience Toolkit (WET) compliancy.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Gathering user requirements and producing/updating user story documentation and design specifications;
  • Architecting web application navigation and content flow and producing sitemaps and workflow diagrams;
  • Designing user interfaces for web applications that include the use of forms;
  • Developing prototypes of user interfaces for user and client acceptance;
  • Designing web sites or web applications using the Treasury Board Common Look and Feel (CLF), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Web Experience Toolkit (WET) compliancy
  • Providing technical assistance and advice to clients and/or team members;
  • Leading projects of limited scope or components of larger projects.
  • Technical documentation of any new applications
  • Technical documentation of changes (enhancements and bugs) to applications.
  • Collaborative team effort with the Project Manager, Developers, Testers and Maintenance developers.
  • Presenting demo to stake holders when necessary
  • Meets with clients when requested for project deliverables:
  • Complete and submit, for weekly approval, time sheets by project using the (in-house) Project Tracking System
